You have done the thinking. Now you need a method.
From wherever you are working right now. One structured session, one clearer next step.
Career Probe Intensive is a live online workshop for mid-career and senior professionals who are ready to stop overthinking their career pivot and start generating real information about what comes next.
The method
Three things happen in this workshop
01
Name what is keeping you stuck
Most capable professionals do not freeze because they lack options. They freeze because a predictable stuckness pattern is narrowing what they can see. Naming it accurately is the first move toward breaking it.
02
Translate what you already have
Your experience does not disappear when your title changes. The problem is that role language (i.e. “professor”, “engineer”, “director”, “consultant”, etc.) does not travel well across all contexts. You leave this workshop with portable capability language that describes what you can actually do, not just where you have been.
03
Design a next step worth testing
Clarity rarely arrives before you move. It arrives after a well-designed experiment generates real information. You leave this workshop with one concrete next step that is small enough to be safe and specific enough to teach you something.
A method built from lived experience
Career Probe was created by Dr. Renée Anne Poulin, a career strategist, Agile coach, workshop designer, and former university professor. Her path from humanities PhD into Agile transformation, product strategy, and executive coaching is the lived source of the method at the center of this work. She helps thoughtful professionals navigate major career pivots with more rigor, less false certainty, and practical next steps that can be tested from where they stand.
A different kind of career workshop
Other workshops only give you content. This one gives you an experience.
Most career workshops ask you to think harder about a problem you have already been thinking about for months. They give you a framework, a worksheet, or a list of questions to answer on your own later. You leave with more to consider and no clearer sense of what to actually do next.
The Career Probe Intensive works differently: it uses a fundamentally different process to help you access what you already know.
The workshop integrates LEGO® Serious Play® as a core facilitation method. This is not a team-building exercise or a novelty activity. LEGO® Serious Play® is used in organizational strategy, leadership development, and complex problem-solving precisely because building physical models activates thinking that analysis alone cannot reach. When your hands are engaged, the analytical loops that keep you stuck tend to quiet down. What you build often surfaces knowledge you have been carrying but could not articulate, about what matters to you, what you are actually good at, and what kind of next step would feel worth taking.
Alongside LEGO® Serious Play®, the workshop moves through structured individual reflection, paired exercises, and small group work. Each element builds on the last. By the end you will have named the pattern keeping you stuck, translated your experience into language that travels, and designed one concrete next step you can test in the real world.
You do not need any prior experience with LEGO® Serious Play® or any other facilitation method.
All you need is a career pivot that is genuinely complex, and a willingness to engage with a process that may surprise you.

Frequently asked questions
-
No. The workshop is designed for people who do not yet have a clear direction. That is the point. You will leave with a clearer understanding of what is keeping you stuck and one next step worth testing, not a finished career plan.
-
You will need Zoom for the live session and Miro for collaborative exercises during the workshop. Both are free to use. You do not need a paid account for either. A computer with a webcam and microphone will give you the best experience. The workshop is highly interactive and participating on a phone or tablet is not recommended. A quiet space where you can speak, be heard, and have your LEGO® Serious Play® kit in front of you will make a significant difference to what you get out of the session. Full setup instructions will be sent in your registration confirmation.
-
A: LEGO® Serious Play® is a facilitation method that uses physical building to surface thinking that is hard to access through writing or talking alone. You will need a basic LEGO® Serious Play® kit for the session or an appropriate number and variety of building blocks and shapes. Instructions for obtaining your kit will be included in your registration confirmation.
-
The workshop is highly interactive. You will work through structured exercises individually, in pairs, and in small groups. You are never required to share more than you are comfortable with, but the more you engage with the exercises and the group, the more useful the session will be. This is not a lecture you watch. It is a structured experience you participate in.
-
Career Probe occasionally records sessions for internal review and marketing purposes. All participants are visible in recordings and cannot be excluded individually. Recordings are not shared with participants — the exception is accessibility needs, which are handled case by case. Contact hello@careerprobelab.com before your session date if you have concerns.
-
A full refund is available if you cancel 7 or more days before the first session. If you cancel within 7 days of the first session, you will receive a credit toward a future Career Probe workshop. If Career Probe cancels the workshop for any reason, you will receive a full cash refund within 5 business days. Spot transfers to other participants are not available.
