Uncover the Capabilities You Can Carry Forward
You are more than the roles you have held. But it can be difficult to explain what remains valuable when the title, field, or context changes.
This workshop helps you look beneath job titles and task lists to identify what you reliably make possible, how those capabilities create value, and where they could travel next.
You will leave with:
A broader picture of what you carry beyond your job title
A clearer understanding of at least one capability you can bring into a new context
Evidence and language for explaining how that capability creates value

Design a Small Career Experiment Before You Make a Big Move
You do not have to make a major career move to learn whether a direction deserves one.
This workshop helps you turn an uncertain possibility into a small, bounded Career Probe that can produce real-world evidence while limiting time, cost, exposure, and commitment.
You will leave with:
A clearly framed career question
A testable expectation
A small Career Probe to carry out after the workshop
A plan for the evidence you will collect
Defined limits and a clear stopping point

A hands-on method for making complex career questions visible
The workshops use LEGO® Serious Play® model-building, guided reflection, and facilitated conversation to help participants work with career questions that can be difficult to organize through words alone.
Building a physical model can help make experiences, assumptions, relationships, and competing pressures more visible. The model gives you something concrete to examine, explain, and change as your understanding develops.
There is no correct way to build, and no artistic or LEGO-building skill is required. The meaning comes from the story you give your model, not from what it looks like.
You decide how much personal detail to share. You will be invited to explain the meaning of your models, but you will not be required to disclose confidential employer information or anything you prefer to keep private.
Alongside model-building, each workshop includes:
Brief teaching and practical frameworks
Structured individual reflection
Facilitated small-group conversation
Selected materials from the Career Probe Field Guide
Enrollment is limited to 16 participants to support active participation.
What you will need
You will need your own LEGO pieces or a comparable collection of varied building pieces.
Purchasing the LEGO® Serious Play® Starter Kit is the simplest option, but you may use your own collection of bricks, figures, connectors, and movable or symbolic pieces.
The kit is purchased separately and is not included in the workshop ticket.
Complete materials, workspace, setup, and Zoom instructions will be sent after registration.

Career Probe workshops are designed primarily for mid-career and senior knowledge professionals navigating a significant career pivot, especially when the old path no longer fits and the next direction is not yet visible.
They may be useful if:

Your professional identity has become closely tied to one title, role, or field
You have substantial experience but struggle to explain how it applies elsewhere
You know what you no longer want but cannot see what could replace it

You want a thoughtful, practical process rather than generic career advice
You do not need to arrive with a finished career plan.
These workshops provide career strategy and professional development. They are not therapy, recruiting, job placement, résumé writing, or a promise that you will identify one correct career destination.
Facilitated by someone who has lived the method
Career Probe was created by Dr. Renée Anne Poulin, a career strategist, Agile transformation coach, workshop designer, and former university professor.
Her own path from a humanities PhD and academic life into Agile coaching and product strategy shaped the method at the center of this work.
She helps thoughtful professionals navigate major career pivots with more rigor, less false certainty, and practical next steps that can be tested from where they stand.

You will build models, reflect on your own situation, explain the meaning of selected models, and participate in facilitated conversation. You decide how much personal detail to share.

Your model is not evaluated for appearance or technical skill. Its value comes from what the pieces represent and the meaning you give them.

You may cancel for a full refund up to seven days before the workshop begins.
If you cancel within seven days of the workshop, your payment may be issued as a credit toward another Career Probe workshop rather than refunded to the original payment method.
Registrations may not be transferred to another person. If Career Probe cancels the workshop, you will receive a full refund.
